27 JulDay Twenty Nine... Time To Say Goodbye

Up bright and early, it was the campers who turned on the musical alarm and filled Fuente Alberche with musical beats for the final time this year.

This morning was going to be jam packed.  There were suitcases to be packed, phone numbers to be exchanged, baby goats to be held, and time to be spent playing with those who have made our stay on camp that extra bit special.

There was the usual flurry of excitement at Sunday breakfast as the campers spoke about seeing their parents, and arranged plans to meet up with their fellow campers once they had got back home.

Campers were beside themselves with excitement as they were told that this morning they would get to pick up and cuddle one of the baby goats (which by the by is called a “kid”).

Carefully taking the kids from Pedro and Raquel, everyone smiled in turn as they had their photo taken with these little cuties.

Not long after, the first cars pulled up outside and parents began to arrive. Over the next couple of hours, there were smiles, hugs, kisses, laughter, and tears as each camper said their goodbyes and set off on their journey homeward bound.

With the gate closing as the final camper departed, and so another year at Midleton School Summer Camp rolled to an end.

To our team of teachers and monitors, as well as to Florentino and Aurora, I would like to say a huge THANK YOU and WELL DONE on a fantastic job.

And to all of you campers and parents, I would like to thank you for coming and helping to create such wonderful memories on camp, and I wish you all a very fun-filled and exciting summer.

I hope to see you all back on camp next year.

All the best.
