30 MarEaster is here!

¿Qué Significa Easter?

After nearly three months of hard work and study I'm sure you're all looking forward to a well deserved break. Well done to all those who have had exams and achieved their goals.
Before you completely switch off I wanted to give you one last thing to think about.
What is Easter?
As you can see from the picture above there is a common modern comercial theme of chicks, rabbits and chocolate eggs. In reality these symbols of Easter date back to the Pagan origins.
The name Easter comes from a pagan figure called Eastre (or Eostre) who was celebrated as the goddess of spring by the Saxons of Northern Europe. Her symbol was the rabbit.
In the Christian faith, Easter has come to mean the celebration of the resurrection of Christ three days after His crucifixion. It is the oldest Christian holiday and the most important day of the church year because of the significance of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the events upon which Christianity is based.
Whatever your reasons for celebrating this Easter we hope you have a wonderful time and come back relaxed and refreshed.
